My Diet

DIET

What I Eat: I’m a Pesce-Vegetarian – in other words, I don’t touch meat but I will eat fish and seafood. I was a full on vegetarian for two years and started incorporating fish in my diet last year. Due to the intensity of my workouts, I needed to incorporate another type of protein in my diet.

What I Drink: Water. Occasionally I’ll have tea but that’s pretty much it. No juice, no soda, no coffee, no alcohol. In fact, I’ve never in my life had a cup of coffee. I don’t even know what it tastes like.

How I Eat: I count calories. I’ve been doing so for around two years now and it played a huge part in getting and keeping my extra weight off. It’s reached the point that I can pretty much figure out the caloric value of something right off the top of my head. (If you ever need help with something, let me know!) I do not believe in fasts or fad diets and refuse to even try one. I always try to think ‘permanent’ when I adjust my diet in any way – if I can’t realistically see myself doing it forever, then I won’t do it at all. The way I see it, by following temporary diets, you’re only temporarily keeping the weight off. I have tons of fruits and vegetables, and I limit fried foods. While I keep my meals healthy, I won’t restrict myself too much. For example if I’m having a veggie burger that I don’t expect to be very good, then I’ll add on grilled onions and maybe a slice of cheese. I refuse to let any meal be a miserable one because, for me, that’s always been a trigger for snacking or binging. I was heavy because I love food so a necessity for sticking to my goals is to make sure I walk away from every meal satisfied.

Foods I Love:

Foods I Avoid

These foods played a huge part in my being overweight. They’re things I love so much and/or view as so bad for me, I refuse to eat them. The last time I had any of these was 30 pounds ago and I view them as triggers for falling off track.

Peeps

Cheese Fries

Fettuccini Alfredo

Gooooood Stuff That Only Tastes Bad:

I can’t live without these! NOTHING here is over 200 calories!

And this one is vegan!
